Eternity Unseen

The bouncing carefree joy reflected in a parents eye
Tears and panic ensue, inevitable wounds cut so deep
As if eternity was in the balance, a life of pain
Perspective changed and it’s only an instant
Seeing the end from the beginning, we can be assured
Seconds are not years, decades are but minutes
Yet one knows not while the other sees true
Time is perspective but pain is real to the bearer
Oh to see the reality and still share in the moment
That’s what my love can do, kiss it better and hold her close
All the while knowing it will pass in the years, in an instant
We see what is before us, why see any different
Give me those moments of joy, those moments of agony
True life, true freedom, true abandon, true love.
